Obesity Vaccine That Supposedly Slims You Down While On Junk Food Diet Won’t Work

By Jeff

anti-obesity vaccine for childWe shouldn’t be surprised to hear the news that a pharmaceutical company is developing an “anti-obesity” vaccine which supposedly allows you to eat the same old junk food while still losing weight.

These mad scientists make vaccines, pills and other drugs to be this magical potion to still allow you to eat unhealthy and not have to exercise. What’s next?

Scientists have invented an obesity vaccine that uses the immune system to fight weight gain. In tests, mice given a single injection lost 10 per cent of body weight after four days.

What is more, the animals were being fed on high-fat food – suggesting the ‘flab jab’ might allow people to eat badly yet stay slim. read more

This particular vaccine works by tricking the immune system into creating antibodies against a hormone called somatostatin.

Somatostatin is created by the brain and digestive system and causes the metabolism to slow by interacting with other hormones. The antibodies are supposed to stop it which is supposed to speed up your metabolism and the pounds will fall off.

This work is being done by Dr Keith Haffer, of US firm Braasch Biotech who says, “This study demonstrates the possibility of treating obesity with vaccination. Although further studies are necessary to discover the long-term implications of these vaccines, treatment of human obesity with vaccination could provide physicians with a drug and a surgery-free option against the weight epidemic.”

There is no mention of side effects to taking this vaccine with the mice. Yes, further studies and testing are to be done they say but expect this “miracle cure” to hit the markets for humans in the near future and then you’ll see the side effects.

Not only that but people will continue to eat unhealthy foods and then we have a real big problem. The body will be unhealthy because of the junk food and they will also be dependent on the new drug.

Why would they become dependent? This vaccine is only considered a “booster” which means you’d have to take it multiple times possibly the rest of your life.

Child Obesity Cured The Right Way

This vaccine is like children’s pain medication. It only masks the pain or symptom while it doesn’t cure the health problem which is causing the pain.

The only safe way to reverse child obesity is by having a healthy diet full of fresh veggies and fruits while exercising consistently. We must steer clear of junk food and “miracle” vaccines.

I wholeheartedly agree. Eat healthy food and stay active. No magic tricks.

Seems like common sense doesn’t it Kimberly? We need to help as many families as possible.

These pharma companies obviously spend billions on developing vaccines because they know they have a market for them.

Oh, what a fabulous solution. Not.

First of all, a high-fat diet will totally slim you down if it is also low-carb. So there’s no proof of anything as far as the so-called “vaccine” goes.

This is as bad as my friends who have diabetes who have decided instead of eating better they will just up their dosage.

Eat healhty and stay active.. If only people would take that route instead of the way we are heading.. It is scary to think what state of health would be in if we did take the vaccination!! It isn’t always easy to stay eating healthy food choices and exercising, but it is the healthiest and safest way to go!!

I know what you mean Michelle. We personally know two individuals who had the stomach reduction surgery. However, their lifestyle never turned healthy.

They are still eating horrible foods and have gained the weight back plus more.

Let’s all continue to be examples for our family and community. This can turn around.

This is really scary stuff! Even scarier that so many people have essentially stopped taking any personal responsibility for their own health and turned to the magic pill – or in this case injection.

    Holly and Karen,

    Great to see your comments!

We do have to take personal responsibility and go the safe and easy route which is actually eating healthy and staying active.

It’s much more difficult maintaining good health if you choose to just take an anti-obesity vaccine.

I find this appalling. A drug to treat obesity really? What are the side effects of that drug going to be? Is it also going to treat heart disease and other side effects of eating poor diets? Honestly, it sounds to me like another “cash cow” for the pharmaceutical companies that will end up harming people. Truthfully, diet and exercise are the best cures for obesity. Unless it is treating something else that is causing obesity. (I do recognize that obesity isn’t always as simple as it may appear-sometimes there are health issues leading to it that aren’t caused by diet or lack of exercise).

They don’t know the side effects yet but even when they do it may not go public until people start taking the vaccine.

Did you know scientists are just now coming out admitting the horrible side effects of the h1n1 vaccine?

This doesn’t sound like a good idea at all! Forget the side effects of the drug, what about the side effects of bad eating habits. Like a couple others, I know someone who had gastric bypass and didn’t change her diet or lifestyle. She’s now at least 50lbs heavier than she was at her heaviest before having the surgery! At her best, she was down over 100lbs. It makes me sad, but it was her choice to forgo the conferencing and not change her life to, well, change her life.

This sounds like just a crutch to allow people to continue to make bad decisions.

You’re right. There will be negative side effects to the drug and to bad eating habits. The vaccine will just mask the main issue.

Why pay the health industry twice. Once for the drugs and vaccines and again for the health problems to be dealt with later?
